English as a Second Language (ESL), also called English as a Foreign Language (EFL), English as an additional language (EAL) or English for speakers of other languages (ESOL), is an English language education study program for non-native speakers. Most ESL programs have small classes for students to receive individual attention from their teachers. Students learn English and also participate in cultural and social activities of the school and the community where they study.
The objective of the ESL program is to improve the level of an English learner. The ESL classes teach different English language skills, according to the English ability of the students, interest, and needs. All programs teach the following: grammar, reading, comprehension, writing, and vocabulary.
Many students attend ESL classes in order to study at a college or university. In this case, you can choose an intensive program that teaches academic English. Other ESL students want to improve their English for travel or social purposes. They can study in general English classes to practice speaking English and learn the skills necessary for communication in many different situations. English business courses are also available for students who want to learn the specific vocabulary and communication skills necessary to engage in business in English.
English Language Programs can teach you to read, write, understand, and speak English more easily by improving your grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills. However, there are also many other reasons to study in an English Language School:
