Test Preps

Overview

At CovLC, we ensure that subject matter is understood. We teach problem-solving strategies and test-taking techniques tailored to each test to build students’ confidence and ensure best results.

ACT

Preparing for College? Our exam prep tutoring program is available for individual and group sessions to help students achieve their best possible scores. Practice tests are administered to familiarize students with the testing process. A subject expert will provide tailored guidance and support to help students achieve better scores.

SAT

CovLC provides highly trained teachers to help students who have difficulties with problem-solving and test-taking. Our instructors will help to ensure that students do their best in each subject area.

GED

This course is conducted by highly trained instructors with emphasis on improving test-taking skills, building confidence, and reducing test anxiety. Get help with your Math, Language Arts and Sciences!

Science is taught to help students build their critical thinking skills. At CovLC, tutors promote a variety of skills such as data analysis, vocabulary building and achieving a wider understanding of what makes the world and our environment function. We make it easy and we make it fun.
4th Grade

    Students will learn Math terminologies and so become fluent in expressing Mathematical concepts. CovLC will seek to motivate students to become confident in applying the learned skills and enjoying the experience, as they are supported every step of the way.

    5th Grade
    At CovLC we aim for the best results. Our 5th Grade Math objective is to have our students prepared, confident and knowledgeable as the Middle School years draw closer. We will fathom addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, fractions, decimals and mixed numbers. In addition, we hope students will master, among other topics, Rounding, Money and the Metric System.
    MODULE 1: Decimal Place Value – Adding and Subtracting decimals
    MODULE 2: Multiplication and Division of whole numbers and decimals
    MODULE 3: Adding and Subtracting Fractions – Equivalent Fractions
    MODULE 4: Multiplying and Dividing Fraction
    MODULE 5: Volume - Introduction to Area, Perimeter and Quadrilateral
    MODULE 6: Coordinate Plane – Algebraic Thinking and Writing Expressions
    It is no secret that English at every level, in all its facets – Reading Comprehension, Writing, Phonics, Verb Tenses – is what every student needs to succeed. We are committed to teach.
    Grades 4- 5
    These are some of the areas students are expected to master as they prepare for the Middle School Curiculum
    1. Parts of Speech.
    2. Verb Tenses.
    3. Phonetic Blends.
    4. Writing short essays.
    5. Answering Comprehension questions.
    Middle School
    Language Arts at this stage is a transition in Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading, Phonics, and Writing from Elementary to High School
    1. Middle schoolers need to be able to speak fluently.
    2. Write clearly in their native language.
    3. Write essays.
    4. Give objective summaries of texts using proper spelling, and
    5. Conduct short research projects , among other requirements.
    High School
    At this stage in their education, students will get involved in courses in preparation for college. They should be able to
    1. Write essays and reports in which they clearly express their point of view,
    2. Site sources for information used,
    3. Read and digest complex information,
    4. Respond to questions concisely,
    5. Work independently,
    6. Ask questions that will get them desired information.

    Schools and educators can partner with CovLC to enhance the delivery of Math standards developed by educational regulators.

    Learners will be assisted by CovLC tutors to draw on their progressive knowledge and innate skills in order to develop proficiency in Math.

    CovLC tutors are satisfactorily trained to engage learners with relevant Math curricula.

    The minimum knowledge for CovLC Math tutors.
